Week of Science Experiments: Day Two

IT'S A RAIN DAY!!!!!!

Today we decided that since it was raining out, we would experiment with who would get the most wet.....

They all look pretty wet to me.....hmmmm

Its Nathan!!! haa haa haa

Marley and I decided to stay on the porch!

If you look closely we found a friend!
Kids though the praying mantis was really cool!

Now for our real science experiment!

Newton's First Law of Motion:

I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
This we recognize as essentially Galileo's concept of inertia, and this is often termed simply the "Law of Inertia"

Here is what you need:

Set up!

Knock the plate and tissue roll .....

TaDa!!!!

Now we tried 3 eggs! What do you think will happen????

Set Up....

Kate's turn! Karate chop the plate!

One egg, Two eggs....???

OOPS!!!

We tried this several times, mostly we got all the eggs to make it in the cups.  I tried to upload videos that we took, but my uncooperative phone had other plans!!!

I hope you guys try this at home!  Let us know how your experiment goes!!
Check back and see what we do tomorrow! :-)
